Ebony Buckle is a London-based conceptual pop artist, originally from Townsville, Australia. She writes and performs with her husband - musician and producer Nick Burns. With her music Ebony holds a mirror to herself and the world, reflecting the human want and struggle to fit in or break out.
Ebony’s debut album Disco Lasers came out in 2021, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Earmilk and Atwood Magazine, who challenged their readers: “I defy you to name another album as colourful and imaginative as Ebony Buckle’s Disco Lasers''. The album is a collection of audio-visual stories inspired by folk tales and the crossroads between fiction and science, told through Buckle’s soaring vocals & imaginative songwriting.
Her second album Hearts Get Started was released in October 2024. The songs provide an insight into Buckle’s musical exploration of pop, rock and folk over the past 4 years. Filled with old favourites and new explorations, this prequel to Disco Lasers invite the listener to follow Ebony on her journey of how she first found her voice, and where it’s taken her since.
